Overview
PlantGuard AI (“we”, “the app”) is a mobile app for sick plant diagnosis, practical plant-care suggestions, 7-day recovery plans, progress tracking, and related features (including reminders and history where available). This policy explains how we handle information when you use the app.

Information we collect and process
Plant photos (diagnosis)
When you run a real AI diagnosis, you choose a photo from your camera or photo library. The image is compressed on your device and sent to our secure backend for analysis:

https://plantguard-ai-worker.ghazalihichame.workers.dev - The backend may forward your photo and related request data to an AI provider (e.g. OpenAI) to generate structured care guidance.
We do not design the app to permanently store your photos on our servers. Processing is for diagnosis only—not for advertising or unrelated profiling.
Symptom answers
You may answer short questions (watering, light, pests, etc.). These answers are sent with the diagnosis request to improve AI output. We do not intentionally log full symptom text in server logs.
Data stored on your device
The app stores locally on your phone:
- Plant profiles you save
- Diagnosis results and recovery plan progress
- Premium AI quota counters and optional pack wallet credits
- Diagnosis history per plant (where available)
You can clear local data from app Settings where available, or by uninstalling the app.
Subscription and purchase status
Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat helps the app verify whether you have an active plantguard_premium subscription entitlement. Optional consumable AI credit packs add wallet credits for Premium members only—they do not grant a subscription. We do not receive or store your payment card or bank details.
Technical information
Our backend may process limited technical data needed to operate the service (e.g. request timing, error codes, rate-limit identifiers). We do not use this for cross-app advertising.
Permissions
- Camera / photo library: Used only when you choose to scan or upload a plant image for diagnosis.
- Notifications: If enabled in a future or current version, used for plant-care reminders you opt into. You can disable notifications in device settings.
AI processing and plant-care judgment
Plant care can be tricky, and app suggestions may not always match what is happening with a real plant. Use PlantGuard AI as one helpful input while you keep observing the plant, follow product labels, and get local expert help for serious or spreading problems. See our Terms of Use.
What we do not do
- No user accounts or cloud sync in the current version
- No sale of personal data
- No unnecessary third-party analytics in the MVP
Advertising
The current app version does not display ads. Premium subscribers are ad-free. A future update may show ads to free users only (never to unlock real AI diagnosis or AI credits). If we add ads, we will update this policy and App Store privacy disclosures.
Children
The app is intended for general plant-care use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices and rights
- Use sample diagnosis to preview the app without Premium or uploading your own photo
- Decline to purchase Premium
- Clear local app data on your device
- Cancel subscriptions in Apple or Google account settings
- Contact us with privacy questions (see Contact below)
Safety reminders
- Do not eat unknown plants based on app guidance.
- Keep potentially toxic plants away from children and pets.
- Follow pesticide and plant-care product labels.
- Consult a local expert for serious plant disease, spreading symptoms, or toxicity concerns.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as features change. Material changes will be reflected at this hosted URL. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
